Learn how to pair your Keychron M6 Wireless Mouse via Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz, or USB wired connection. Step-by-step guide with common mistakes to avoid.
Quick answer
To pair your Keychron M6 Wireless Mouse, slide the mode switch to Bluetooth for wireless pairing, to 2.4 GHz for the included dongle, or connect via USB for a wired setup. Each method requires a few simple steps.
Which connection mode should you use?
The Keychron M6 Wireless Mouse supports three connection modes: Bluetooth (up to three devices), 2.4 GHz wireless via the included dongle, and USB wired. Bluetooth is best for switching between devices like a laptop and tablet. 2.4 GHz offers lower latency for gaming or precise work. USB wired is ideal when you need to charge while using, or if you prefer a fixed connection with no wireless interference.
How to pair your Keychron M6 Wireless Mouse
- 1. Charge the mouse fully: Connect the mouse to a USB power source using the included cable and let it charge for at least 2 hours before first use. A low battery can cause pairing failures.
- 2. Choose your connection mode: Slide the mode switch on the bottom of the mouse to Bluetooth (BT), 2.4 GHz (wireless icon), or USB (wired icon). For Bluetooth, also press the pairing button next to the switch to enter pairing mode—the LED will blink quickly. Do not skip pressing the pairing button for Bluetooth; the mouse will not be discoverable otherwise.
- 3. Pair via Bluetooth: On your computer, open Bluetooth settings and select 'Keychron M6' from the list of devices. If prompted, confirm pairing. The mouse can remember up to three Bluetooth devices—switch between them by pressing the pairing button repeatedly (the LED color changes). If the mouse does not appear, ensure it is in pairing mode (blinking LED) and that no other device is already connected to that Bluetooth slot.
- 4. Pair via 2.4 GHz dongle: Insert the included 2.4 GHz dongle into a USB port on your computer. Slide the mode switch to the 2.4 GHz position. The mouse should connect automatically within a few seconds. No additional pairing is needed. Keep the dongle within 3 feet of the mouse for best performance. USB 3.0 ports may cause interference—use a USB 2.0 port or a USB extension cable if needed.
- 5. Use USB wired mode: Connect the USB cable directly from the mouse to your computer. Slide the mode switch to the USB position. The mouse will work immediately as a wired device and charge simultaneously. USB wired mode does not require any pairing and works with any computer that supports USB HID devices.
